AFFC has been wound up and will no longer be registering teams.
At our AGM on Tuesday 2nd February 2016 the remaining members voted to wind up the club.
Assets have been distributed as follows:
Full size portable goals with nets have gone to Saints Eagles South FC
Fridge/Freezer and a cupboard stay at Cranbrook Park for the Townsville Kayak Club. - Thank you to the Committee and members of the Townsville Kayak Club for access to their storage shed over the last few years
2 Cupboards have gone to Curraswans.
All other assets and equipment including cash funds, goals, BBQ, club equipment trailer, linemarker, bibs, balls, chairs, tables, gazebos and much more has gone to Townsville Football Inc to support their programs and the upgrades at Brolga Park, which will benefit the whole Townsville Football Community.
Sadly the amalgamation proposal (see image below)put forward in 2015 to amalgamate with Wulguru will not be going ahead.
Many people supported this proposal, however there was a small group of WUFC Life Members who did not. Due to a determined effort by this group to achieve the outcome that they wanted they are now on the Management Committee following the WUFC AGM on 10th January. They have strongly opposed the amalgamation proposal over the last few months and as a result the wider Wulguru Club Community will now not have an opportunity to vote on this.
We believed this was a good opportunity for Wulguru and are saddened at the outcome.
We want to thank Brett Armstrong for his efforts to give the Wulguru Club Community a fair and equal chance to have their say on the future of the club. We also want to thank those parents and players that supported him on this.
